Wedding and Honeymoon Show 2018

Well that was a crazy weekend! I haven’t seen such a busy and buzzing wedding show in a long time. As soon as the doors opened on Saturday morning, it was all go until Sunday evening.

As you may know, I was working on the ‘I Do School‘ which is a new concept for the show. The I Do School had so many cool and informative events to help couples plan their wedding. The event started with an amazing showcase of wedding decor inspiration from IKEA. You will see the pictures below and I will do a guest post from Steph soon. Next up was the Groom’s styling session with Louis Copeland, Debenhams and The Grafton Barber. I actually learnt so much here. Grooms are so overlooked and this session gave really great advice on styling and looking well for the wedding day. Next The Make Up Bar took to the stage to do a live demo showcasing a key bridal look. Lisa and Kiera are phenomenal at what they do and they did my looks for the 2 days.

The bridal styling session followed and it was a big crowd pleaser. We featured a wide variety of dresses covering many core trends and styles along with price points. Debenhams showcased 3 looks covering traditional lace, contemporary backless and then a little short number which is ideal for the registrar. Next up was a brand new bridal shop called First Impressions. Rachel’s collection was very on trend and so beautiful. Again, there were 3 looks, our first look was a real show stopper, it had everything from cut out, sparkles, mesh overlay….you name it. The next look was stripped back and very simple. It was all about the back. The final look had the wow factor and was the ultimate princess gown. It had a huge tulle skirt with blush pink tone with a 3d floral, boned bodice. Our final designer was House of Delphine and this show cased timeless elegance. The dresses featured were all signature designs from Delphine. They were just perfection. I adore her collection and loved to show how you can be feminine and defy trends. To close the show, Debenhams featured 3 alternative bridesmaids dresses.

Once the bridal styling sessions closed, we moved on to show case the top mother of the bride or groom and guest wear looks from Debenhams. Ann the personal shopper extraordinaire brought us some really stunning looks that will definitely stand out from the crowd.

To close the show, we had an expert panel where we discussed burning questions about wedding planning. The panel included Bev from Amazing Cakes, Suzanne from The Station House Hotel, Darina from Unique Japan Tours, Ciara from Event Central, Nick O’ Keefe Photography and Lamber de Bie Florist.

Out in the Shelbourne Hall, there was such a great buzz and the catwalk show had the crowd smiling. Andrea Hayes and Conor Clear presented on the main stage and announced winners of the Mother and Groom competition. Oh and there was a proposal on stage!

The Bride of the Year Show will be back in January as will I! Looking forward to it already.
