Vivienne Westwood Arrives in Ireland
Whilst this isn’t pretty new information, it is the first time that I have been able to sit down and properly look at the details. This is phenomenal news!!! The White Gallery Boutique is one of my favourite boutiques and I’m thrilled that they have such a prestigious designer here on these fair shores.
From October, The Vivienne Westwood Made-to-Order bridal collection is exclusively available to The White Gallery Boutique, Newry, Co. Down. The 2020 Made-to-Order collection encapsulates the quintessential Rose garden. The rose print is signature to Westwood and also has soft greys and pastels. Rose iconography has been used in culture, art, literature and religion for centuries, as a heroic timeless icon of beauty, strength and love. There are 5 core dresses in the collection.
In terms of ‘made-to-order’, each dress will be tailored to the specific measurements of the bride. The collection is designed with an environmental conscience, with a number of gowns available in organically produced, eco-friendly and cruelty free Peace Silk, and sustainably sourced viscose as a vegan alternative to silk, satin and crěpe.
The White Gallery Boutique is the first and only Irish stockist of the Vivienne Westwood Made-to-Order bridal collection, which will sit alongside their other exclusive designer labels including Parisian ateliers, Rime Arodaky & Laure de Sagazan, New Zealand-based, Rue De Seine and Halfpenny London. I featured their Rue de Seine and Rime Arodaky gowns on Xpose last year.
Included in the collection is the Amber – a romantic gown with seamless lines featuring a structured shoulder line; the backless, asymmetric, floor length Minerva gown and the iconic Vivienne Westwood Cocotte, complete with a historical flat corset inspired by the fashionable high society women of the 18th-century.
