Review – Tullamore Court Hotel
Welcome to the four star Tullamore Court Hotel.
#sponsored – whilst this is a paid review, please note that all opinions are my own.
I’m not going to lie, I knew very little about the Tullamore Court Hotel until I walked through the doors last weekend. I was very lucky to have been invited down for a little Easter break with the family. From the moment we walked in we were treated so well. The staff made a fuss over my baby James and when we got to our room, we were blown away with the generosity. There were toys and eggs for James as well as some very tasty chocolate treats for mammy and daddy. Treats aside, this showed me that the team here at Tullamore Court Hotel value their business, customers and reputation. I met a couple getting married here in a few weeks’ time and they literally couldn’t speak highly enough about the venue and team.
The venue is completely down to earth. There are no airs or graces and all the staff are naturally nice people. I just felt very relaxed here. For the first time in weeks, I actually chilled out. The decor is neutral and traditional. There are some splashes of contemporary here and there.
The guest rooms are huge….and I mean huge! I got to stay in a suite and it was the size of the full downstairs of my house. For brides and grooms to-be, you can pick any of the suites on the 3rd floor. My favourite was the Presidential Suite. It is the full size of my house! You have a lounge area and then a dining area. The dining area can seat up to 8 and I thought that would be lovely for breakfast for the bride before her wedding day. There is great light with floor to ceiling windows, again great for the brides’ makeup on the morning of the wedding. The bed is super king sized and pure luxury. The bathroom has a feature Jacuzzi tub as well.
The hotel is almost 20 years old and most of the staff that opened the hotel, are still there today. This is a real testament to how well run the hotel is as normally staff turnover in hotels is very high. A key member of staff is Martin. Martin has been looking after/hand holding the weddings here since the doors opened. His own daughters got married here. He is a true gentleman and has clear passion for what he does. You are in very safe hands with that level of experience. Every little detail is thought through and I can see that no stone is left unturned on Martin’s watch!
The D.E Williams Suite is very striking. It is piped and draped in areas and has high ceilings. There is beautiful natural day light in the room. There are floor to ceiling windows with a pretty garden in the background. The suite is very flexible and can take numbers from 80 right up to 350. The layout can be adjusted to suit your numbers.
When your guests arrive, you have two arrival options, you can come through the main door or there is a private entrance. I preferred the private entrance. This area is closed off to everyone except your wedding party. It is spacious and gives you enough room to add in entertainment or some special touches. The hotel provides a lot of gorgeous décor and it is impressive as you walk in. You will be greeted by vintage themed décor, gourmet bites, a glass of bubbles and a private bar.
The food…..where do I start……amazing. I had breakfast dinner and lunch while I was there and it was beautiful. I also had a cheeky room service with sticky toffee pudding.
Hats off to Executive Head Chef Stephen Johnston. I had the opportunity to see the wedding food and it is top quality. You always know when food is locally sourced. You can just see it in the vibrancy of the colours. Chef Stephen is highly acclaimed and well known for his attention to detail. The hotel has its very own pastry chef, ‘Chef Diana’, which means that they don’t buy in their desserts, everything is baked fresh that day. Check out the pictures below and you will see the attention to detail. It’s a good job I don’t work there as I would constantly be in eating the desserts.
There is no shortage of places to get your photo taken in the hotel and there is a garden for family photos. You can also avail of the use of Hollow Gardens. This is a private garden a few minutes from the hotel.
There is unbelievable value to be had here. The wedding packages start from €47.50 and you can bring your own wine with no corkage charge on some packages. It’s only a 1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive from Dublin and is in some cases half the price of a Dublin wedding. Your guests will have a ball too as there is a leisure center. There is a beauty salon on the first floor and you get your make up trail added for free as well as 6 months free gym membership when you book this venue.
Overall. this is a lovely venue with real character. You will be treated like royalty and it won’t break the bank.
Now….here are my pictures!
