Review – The Make Up Bar – Temple Bar

One of my favourite parts of this job is the reviews I get to do. I was so lucky to get to visit the Make Up Bar in Temple Bar recently. I didn’t know very much about them but when I arrived I spotted the sign for The Make Up Crew….now that rang bells.

The Make Up Bar is the actual hair and make up service whereas the crew is the school. I was going to an awards ceremony with my full time job work crew and they squeezed me in. I always end up getting hair and make up trials when I have nowhere to go and its so disappointing! All dressed up with nowhere to go.

When I arrived, I couldn’t have walked in to a more welcoming salon. All of the staff and clients were having chats and laughing away. Before my bum hit the seat, there was a glass of Prosecco in hand……what more could you possibly want!

The girls were so so lovely and i’m not just saying that. They were so so genuine and nice. I sometimes feel intimidated going in to some salons but The Make Up Bar was so relaxing and chilled.

I wanted to see what their wedding styling was like so opted for an up-style. I normally go for a waves but I wanted to see how good this is for the wedding market. I adored my up-style. It was a loose and relaxed up-style with light loops weaving through the back. The front was swept back with my fringe just slightly curled. The amount of compliments I got that night!

My make up was focused on a strong complexion and popping eyes. That was achieved along with some gorgeous highlighting. I was delighted with myself and felt so confident that night.

The Make Up Bar can accommodate wedding parties in the Temple Bar salon or they travel to you providing both hair and make up. They also specialise in lashes and brows. They also do lessons, I plan on doing one in the next few months.

In the Make Up Crew area, you can host a hen party there……now this I would love! You can get group lessons and get your glam on before your night out.

They open early and close late so you can pop in just before a night out or early enough before work.

The Make Up Bar teams work has featured in all of the top wedding publications such as Confetti and Xpose as well as being the main make up artists at the RDS wedding shows. They specialise in weddings and they are really are one of the best out there…..you’ll see what I mean when you see my pictures!
