Review – Farnham Estate

I had such a relaxing trip to the beautiful Farnham Estate – Spa & Golf Resort. It is on my top list of relaxing venues to visit. I am 5 months pregnant at the moment so this came at the right time.

While I was there, I indulged in a spa treatment, floated in the infinity pool, ate like a lord and slept like a baby. As you drive up, you get a feeling that you are somewhere special. The driveway comes via the impressive golf course and leads up to the an interesting building – a stately home on one side and a modern building on the other. For a bride and groom on their wedding day, it must feel very special as you make your way to the door.

What I loved about Farnham Estate was that you felt like you were in a resort away from all of the madness. The venue is surrounded by acres of greenery, woodlands, golf course and a lake.

Before I got stuck in to my relaxation, I took the opportunity to take a look at the wedding facilities. Wedding parties are kept separate from the general business of the hotel. They are housed in a separate building and you have the place to yourselves. I thought that this was a nice touch as you have the privacy that is some times lacking from a large hotel yet you have all of the leisure amenities for your guests.

The ballroom is contemporary but very understated. The wood tones within the room give a nice neutral backdrop and the layout also makes it easy to drape if you wanted to add a personal touch. The arrival area is spacious with floor to ceiling windows that lead out to a green outdoor seating area. You have plenty of room to bring in arrival music, candy carts, photo-booths or whatever you wish to do. The venue also provide a candy cart option. They also have a private area for brides and grooms! I loved this! There is a room for a groom and his grooms men which is styled with leather couches. For the bride, there is an elegant lounge which is ideal for make up top ups and time out with bridesmaids….or more importantly….the groom!

I loved how the venue have thought through a wedding day in great detail and its a sign of an experienced team.

Once my tour was completed, I wasted no time and went straight for an ESPA facial……O.M.G……I was transported to another realm! I have no idea where I went but for once in a long time, I switched off. It was the best facial I have ever had and I honestly mean that. My skin was like silk after it but it was the relaxation that did it for me. I took in a dip in the infinity pool after and we were blessed with great weather so we got to enjoy the outdoor sunshine while floating in the pool.

My room was a suite in the old house. This would be ‘my style’. You will see by the pictures below, it was bright and airy with high ceilings and vintage feel. My favourite was the armchair in the bathroom. I really want that for my house!

I had dinner in the Botanica Restaurant and couldn’t resist the steak. I had the set menu and the only issue for me being pregnant was that I couldn’t have seafood or pate and there were some really nice options that I would have loved to have tried.

Take a look through my pictures below!
