Commins & Co is a sister of Bespoke Diamonds. When you combine both jewellers it means better buying power which allows them to get better deals on diamonds which they can then pass on to you, the customer! With price in mind, at Commins & Co you can get an engagement ring from €1,000 right up to what your budget allows.

For those of you that haven’t visited the antique quarter of Powerscourt Town House, there is a wide range of the very finest antique, custom-made and retail jewellery. They also won the 2016 Jeweller of the year award with Weddingsonline.

I popped in to Commins & Co just over a week ago and was really impressed with their selection. You can have the best of all worlds here. If you want an antique ring…they’ve got it, if you want a ring custom made just for you….they’ve got it or they have a huge selection of all engagement ring styles for you to choose in store.

They have their very own goldsmith in house which means that you have the luxury of getting any resizing done very quickly.

On top of their huge range of engagement rings, they have every type of wedding band you could imagine and of course if you want something unique and made from scratch, you can do that.

I had a great chat with Martin while there and asked him about the antique collection and he assured me that they will only take in and trade the very best antique rings. The range that they have is very different from what I saw in the other windows and when I had a chance to look up close you would think that the rings have been kept in bubble wrap all these years! They have rings from 1920. The one caveat with antique rings is that, over a long period of time, the band can wear down and dirt lodges under the claws around diamond, this can cause the diamond to come loose and ultimately fall out. On top of that, whilst antiques ring are absolutely beautiful, the stones were not cut as well as they are now. In other words, they have more shine now. With all of this in mind, if you like the antique look, you can still get a ring designed in the same way and will still achieve the style you want but with the peace of mind that you have a certified top ring. All remake antique rings come with certified diamonds and an independent valuation for peace of mind. I never knew this myself!

Commins & Co also stock a wide range of bridal jewellery. They have some really beautiful pendants and earrings as well as gifts for bridesmaids.
