Review – Clonabreany House

Clonabreany House Weddings

#sponsored – whilst this is a paid review, please note that all opinions are my own.

If you were following me on SnapChat and Instagram this week, you would have joined me as I took a spin out to Clonabreany House. You would have noticed that I fell slightly head over heels in love with this venue.

The one word that I kept repeating throughout the day was ‘pretty’ but don’t mistake this for being too girlie. As you drive up the avenue, the house is so impressive as it sits on top of a hill. The house is surrounded by never ending views of green fields. As you walk through the door you actually get a sense that you are about to enter somewhere very special. As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted with a very warm welcome and very striking decor. The decor is vintage style and this runs right through to the Ballroom which is named ‘The Grand Marquee’. It is a dressed in all white and has marque style draping. It is like a blank canvas and then VP Flowers come in and add so many special touches. This is a DIY bride and grooms’ heaven. As I mentioned, it is a blank canvas and even without additions it is beautiful but from what I gather, the majority of weddings that take place here are very involved in their decor and love to personalise their look. As I walked around the room my head was spinning as I couldn’t stop visualising all the amazing themes that I’d love to do for fun! Vintage is the most popular theme here and that is understandable given the surrounding style. Rustic theme is equally suitable as well as vintage hollywood glamour. I would actually love to see a secret garden and mad hatters tea party theme too. One of the most striking features is the checkered dance floor.

Your guests will really enjoy being in this setting for a wedding. Guest accommodation is top notch. They can sleep approx 80-100 guests but fear not, there is a lot of other accommodation in the surrounding area. The accommodation really blew me away. There are several guest houses with a number of bedrooms in each. Some of the houses are as good as some of the houses you might see on Room to Improve with Dermot Bannon. Your guests will be absolutely spoilt here. In the guest accommodation area (across from main house) there is a bar which is a residents bar but could also lend itself for a day after celebration.

The Orchard Room hosts civil ceremonies. Its very spacious but still has a very intimate feeling. It is in a chapel like building and is very photogenic! Outside the Orchard Room there are some apple trees and a small forest where you can get pictures. If you follow the pathway in the forest, you will go through a secret tunnel which brings you to another stunning location. The tunnel brings you back to the grounds of the main house and there is a beautiful large pond which again is fantastic for your wedding photography.

The bridal suite is in the main house and is kept separately from your guests. It is so so beautiful. I don’t even think I can articulate just how beautiful it is. Thank god, I have a video to show you. This suite would be ideal for your morning of wedding pictures.

While I was there, the team were preparing for an Open Evening and for the next upcoming weddings. I thought I knew a lot about wedding preparation but the team put me to shame. The work that was being put in to ensure a meticulous run of events blew me away. Their attention to detail was far beyond a level that I even knew existed. It is very clear that whilst this venue is pretty, warm and relaxed for your wedding day, there is serious military precision going on the lead up and background. I have been in some 5 star venues in my time and they don’t even compare to the service level in Clonabreany House. Your wedding will be in very safe hands with Mary and the team.

I actually couldn’t believe the starting price. Weddings start from €75 per guest but I would have thought it started from €99. The quality is really fantastic and it’s the sort of venue that would resonate with your guests too.
