Review – Charleville Park Hotel
#sponsored – whilst this is a paid review, please note that all opinions are my own.
I’m going to be completely honest…..I didn’t know very much about Charleville Park Hotel until I visited the venue just over a week ago.
Now, I know that you are probably sick of hearing people go on and on about how amazing the staff were at various different hotels BUT I am still blown away by the hospitality I experienced in Charleville Park Hotel. It was so warm and friendly and effortless to the team. Everywhere I turned there was a natural loveliness. This is hospitality that you just cannot train for, the team are happy and it shows through in their constant upbeat attitude. Nothing was a problem. I can categorically say that if it were my wedding, I would sleep well at night knowing it was in Team Charleville Parks hands.
When I checked in, I was greeted by a huge bedroom and some cookies. They had me at cookies! Once settled, I of course had a wedding show around and what became apparent is that the team have thought of every small detail, right down to the types of drinks they offer upon arrival for guests. The overall decor of the hotel is contemporary. There is a private bar area for guests and this was one of may favourite spaces. They have oversized vibrant blue armchairs and it would be a nice place to have a spot of afternoon tea.
The pre-reception area is very spacious and the drinks reception is like a work of art. I got to see the cocktail set up and it really is top notch. There are a good few add-ons that you can get for your arrival reception, such as a harpist and candy cart.
The Ballroom is so impressive. The neutral, contemporary decor gives a sense of calm and the modern chandeliers add a touch of glamour. The ceiling can be lit in various colours. The bar is in the room which means you can keep your guests together. The smoking area is very subtly located to the left of the reception area. The top table sits in front of a fairy-light backdrop. There are a few options for your table decor; such as candelabras and tall cherry blossom trees.
When I was leaving the ballroom, I found a room full of wedding ‘bits and bobs’. If you are struggling for decor ideas, I suggest you raid this room! (don’t tell them I told you that!)
The bridal suite boasts space, luxury and comfort. Take a look at my Youtube video. It makes for the perfect ‘Get Ready’ location.
After my show around I had dinner. Well, I don’t think I have ever come across as generous a portion size. When I used to look after weddings, many couples were so concerned that their guests would be full as it is such a long day. Let me assure you, no one will go hungry at Charleville Park Hotel. It was so tasty and despite being full to the brim after dinner, I still pushed myself to demolish a meringue tower……divine!
Overall, I found this venue to be so endearing and ‘on the ball’ when it comes to weddings. If North Cork is your preferred location, make sure to check in with Barbara for a show around.
