Review – Adare Manor
I took a trip to visit the stunning Adare Manor last week. For those that do not know this venue, its located Limerick. This is a venue like no other. Most will know it because of its wealth of famous getting married there.
Before i walked through the door i had a preconceived idea that it might be pretentious and very formal. I even went as far as dressing in my Sunday best. It was not like this at all. It is naturally warm and the staff are so nice. As soon as you walk in you will feel so relaxed. There is an air of elegance which lets you know that you are somewhere very special. It would be a big treat to be a guest at a wedding here.
The only bad news is that it will be closed throughout 2016 for renovations. The good news is that there is some serious money being pumped in so no doubt it will come back even better. It’s hard to think how it could get better but no doubt they will make sure it does!
I worked my way through pricing up a menu and for 5 courses it worked out at approximately €85 per guest, which in the overall scheme isn’t bad for a 5 star hotel. There are 4 stars in Dublin charging that so i think its actually good value considering it is a real and unique 5 star castle.
The ballroom has all of the original castle fixtures and fittings, the wooden paneling is rich and its complemented by gorgeous candle light. There is a wealth of photographic opportunities, there are gardens and it’s also home to one of Ireland’s best golf courses.
