Real Wedding – Sarah & Josh
All of this doom and gloom has put a complete downer on the Class of 2020 weddings.
For Sarah and Josh whilst it was initially a lot of stress, their City Hall wedding was a dream and they wouldn’t change anything for the world.
Having met on a night out in London back in 2013, Josh popped the question in 2018 at the very romantic setting of St Peters Basilica. Of course Sarah said yes and here we are today enjoying their amazing day.
Planning with Covid 19 Restrictions
Sarah and Josh had the added complexity of planning their wedding from the UK but that did not hold them back. Despite 4 postponements, they chose the beautiful City Hall for the ceremony followed by an intimate gathering of 12 guests in Ryleighs at The Mayson.
“Looking back we thought cancelling our original date 3 weeks out was the hardest part but little did we know what was to come! No doubt the hardest part was deciding whether to go ahead in November or not. None of Josh’s family or our friends from the UK were able to travel due to the quarantine and lockdown in Ireland.”
When the wedding day came around, it was a little different than the morning prep you would expect to see as makeup and hair dressers were not permitted to do weddings. Sarah had to do her own glam and she nailed it.
“As Josh’s family couldn’t be there We had them on Skype for the ceremony and drinks reception which really meant a lot to both of us. And completely summed up 2020 and virtual events!!!”
As you will see from the amazing pictures below, this was an absolutely beautiful wedding full of emotion and love. Whilst the this whole situation and restriction is such a knock to many, Sarah and Josh make it look amazing. If you are in this Covid Wedding conundrum, take some comfort from Sarah & Josh…..
Advice from the couple….
“Honestly just go for it, its hard to capture and explain how perfect our day was for us. It was so different to our original plan! But it was the best day, and felt so amazing to be finally married after all the planning and uncertainty. I’m pretty sure there is a life lesson in there to just roll with the punches and you can’t always plan and be prepared!!
Covid wedding planning is a different ball game all together, but we just kept coming back to what our priority was! Its different for everyone and you just need to trust what feels right for you. Ok we didn’t get all the frills and extras, but when it comes down to it all we needed was each other and the love and support of our families!”
