Druids Glen Wedding Venue
I wasn’t too familiar with some of Wicklows’ wedding venues so decided to start with one of its finest five stars. That’s how I roll!
I recently stayed in Druids Glen for 2 nights and to say I was impressed is an understatement. What makes this hotel great is the people. Very simply, they have the best staff. From the moment we walked through the door to the time we left, we were spoilt and not in a five star pretentious way. It was so homely and we were travelling with a 2 month old baby so you could imagine how good it was to be looked after so well. By the way, the baby has never slept as well!
I couldn’t miss an opportunity to check out the wedding facilities so Nessa their wedding coordinator met with me. Nessa has been part of the team for a whopping 11 years (this is practically unheard of in hotels). You couldn’t be in safer hands! She was so knowledgable and I could see that no stone would be left unturned under Nessa’s watch.
The hotel is beautiful and there are so many places to get your pictures taken. The hotel is surrounded by one of Ireland’s most famous golf courses, Druids Glen Golf Club. It’s known as Ireland’s Augusta which can only mean it’s outstanding. It really is very scenic and your pictures will be beautiful if this is in the background.
You won’t have to worry about the general hotel and restaurant guests crashing your wedding as you have your own private section that comes fully equipped with its own bar, lounge and outdoor area. The ballroom is a blend of modern and traditional decor. I loved the neutral colours as they allow you to put your own colour scheme in or is elegant enough to leave as it is. Of course the hotel is fully stocked with a wide range of colours for you to choose from. It can host up to 200 guests and they require a minimum of 120 guests.
The food is incredible and I mean incredible. If your guests are being served up this quality then you will have very happy guests. I ate in the restaurant and bar and on both sittings the food was just out of this world. If you get a chance to dine there I strongly recommend the Goats Cheese starter and Pork main course in Hugo’s Restaurant.
Price wise it’s as you would expect for the quality that you’re getting, I estimated apx €109 per guest and that includes all food and wine.
