All About Supplements
Before I got pregnant, the only thing I knew about was taking folic acid. Roll on my first pregnancy and all of a sudden there is a huge requirement for you build yourself up and make sure that there is ample supply of all of the right stuff that you and baby need. By this third pregnancy, there is no denying that it is a harder pregnancy given that I have 2 little men plus I, like many had Covid 19 back in March. I would go as far as to say that I was chronically tired in trimester one.

I spotted a story on Jennifer Wrynne’s Instagram and she was chatting about Proceive and Jennifer was pregnant with twins so I listened intently. I had been taking the same pregnancy supplement that I had been on the boys but I really felt I was not getting enough for whatever reason. Jennifers story planted a seed in my mind to maybe consider switching up my approach and here is the reason why.
In earlier trimester 2, I received a lovely box of specifically tailored pregnancy supplements for Trimester 2. This was the first time that I started to really understand that at the different stages of pregnancy, conceiving and even post baby, that you need a different mix of ‘stuff’ adapted to what is most important for that time. When you think about it, it’s a no brainer.
“The reason we have taken a trimester based approach to our products is that during pregnancy your nutritional requirements increase and what’s more, these requirements actually change as the pregnancy processes and the baby develops!” Proceive
I had been plodding along taking the same old levels of supplement despite the increasing requirement on my body to grow and expand!
This mixed with the complete exhaustion that Covid stripped me of, I knew it was time for me to switch.
I would say within 2 weeks of taking it, I started to see the benefits. Firstly, the classic pregnancy signs are great nails and thick hair, this started to restore.
The range has been developed by an experienced team of medical and nutritional experts and is uniquely formulated to support the nutritional needs of both mum and baby during each trimester. Each product from Trimester 1 to 3 has a base of core nutrients including Folic Acid, in the natural L-Methylfolate form for improved absorption, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Iron and Zinc.
The product is then tailored to meet the needs of mother and baby during the specific trimester with additional vitamins, minerals and amino acids added in to meet the needs of mother and baby at each stage of pregnancy. You can refer to the box for the key nutrients for the 2nd Trimester for mum and baby.
And, as for the big science bit, when pregnant its so so important to eat a clean, healthy, balanced diet. There are so many things that we are told to avoid and while it can be difficult with the ‘oul cravings, what’s great to know about Proceive is that you won’t find any fillers, binders or preservatives in the range. The team at Proceive explained to be that fillers are often found in tablets to bulk them out, while binders are the glue used to hold a tablet together. I had no idea!!!
With Proceive you are guaranteed high quality, pure active nutrition in each and every box. AND a big plus for me, this an Irish brand.
They also have an additional supplement for Omega 3 that you can take.
My advice would be, and i’m very conscious that this is a sponsored post, but genuinely, I did see a big difference and as I approach the end of trimester 2, i’m already getting ready for changing my pack to trimester 3. It is hands down the best that I’ve used.
Proceive is available in pharmacies nationwide.
